Note: The hourly rate for this position is $22 - $36 / hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. Responsibilities:
- Measuring and Cutting Glass: Glaziers accurately measure and cut glass to precise specifications for various projects, ensuring a perfect fit
- Installing Glass: They install glass in windows, doors, skylights, storefronts, and other structures, ensuring a secure and watertight seal
- Removing and Replacing Glass: Glaziers remove old or damaged glass and install new panes, often working with different types of glass, including insulated and tempered glass
- Working with Various Materials: They may also work with materials like sashes, moldings, and fasteners to secure glass installations
- Ensuring Safety and Durability: Glaziers ensure that glass installations are safe, energy-efficient, and durable, using appropriate techniques and materials
- Using Specialized Tools: Glaziers utilize tools like glazier's knives, suction cups, and other specialized equipment to handle and install glass
- Interpreting Blueprints: They often need to interpret blueprints and construction plans to understand project requirements and ensure accurate installations
- Working at Heights: Glaziers may need to work at heights, using ladders and scaffolding, requiring physical fitness and a good sense of balance
- Handling Heavy Materials: They often handle heavy glass panels, requiring physical strength and the ability to lift and maneuver materials safely
- Working in Various Settings: Glaziers work in both residential and commercial settings, including homes, offices, stores, and industrial buildings
- Repairing Glass: They also repair damaged glass, including replacing broken panes and sealing leaks
- Choosing the Right Glass: Glaziers select the appropriate type of glass for a project, considering factors like safety, energy efficiency, and aesthetics
Qualifications:
- E-Verify - Eligible to work in the USA
- Minimum 2 years of experience on commercial, residential or industrial construction sites
- Self-sufficient and fully tooled in the trade
- In-depth knowledge of building codes and laws in your area
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
