Core duties include chopping ingredients, operating cooking equipment (grills, ovens), plating food, managing inventory, and cleaning work areas to ensure safety and quality standards.

Pay Rate:

What you'll be doing as a Cook / Sous Chef:

• Food Preparation & Cooking: Preparing ingredients (washing, chopping, seasoning) and cooking, baking, grilling, or frying food according to recipes
• Station Management: Setting up, maintaining, and closing down workstations, ensuring all equipment is clean and sanitized
• Safety & Sanitation: Adhering to food safety guidelines, sanitizing workstations, and storing food at appropriate temperatures to avoid spoilage
• Quality Control & Presentation: Ensuring food presentation, portions, and quality meet restaurant standards before serving
• Teamwork & Efficiency: Coordinating with other kitchen staff to handle multiple orders simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Inventory Management: Monitoring supplies, notifying supervisors of shortages, and assisting with receiving deliveries

Available shifts:

Shift Timings: 1st Shift (Day) & 2nd Shift (Evening)

Job requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
• Experience: Proven experience (1–2 years) as a cook, prep cook, or line cook
• Knowledge: Understanding of cooking techniques (e.g., sautéing, roasting) and safety regulations
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and work in a high-pressure environment
• Skills: Strong knowledge of cooking methods (grilling, baking, frying), knife skills, and ability to follow recipes
• Physical Strength: Ability to stand for long hours and lift 25–50 pounds
• Attributes: Team player, works well under pressure, and demonstrates strong attention to detail
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent 
• Background check and drug screening required
