PeopleReady of Muncie, IN is now hiring Cleaners! As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for all basic cleaning in and around residences or office buildings.

Pay Rate:
The pay rate for this job is $13 - $13 / hour*
What you'll be doing as a Cleaner:
- Dusting: Thoroughly dust all surfaces, including walls, ceilings, light fixtures, shelves, window sills, baseboards, and furniture (if any remains)
- Vacuuming and Sweeping: Vacuum all carpets and rugs. Sweep and mop all hard floors (wood, tile, laminate, etc.)
- Pay close attention to corners and edges
- Bathroom Cleaning: Scrub and disinfect toilets, showers/tubs, sinks, and countertops
- Clean mirrors and any glass surfaces
- Wipe down faucets and hardware
- Clean and disinfect bathroom floors
- Kitchen Cleaning: Clean and degrease countertops, backsplashes, and the exterior of appliances (refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, microwave)
- Clean inside the microwave
- Clean the sink and polish faucets
- Clean kitchen floors
- Window Cleaning: Clean interior and exterior windows and window tracks
- Trash Removal: Empty all trash cans and take out the trash and recycling. Replace liners
- Detail Cleaning: Pay attention to details such as wiping down door knobs, light switches, and outlet covers
- Appliance Cleaning (Interior): Depending on the agreement, may include cleaning the inside of the refrigerator and oven
- Cabinet and Drawer Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior and potentially the interior of cabinets and drawers
- Specific Tasks Related to Vacancy: Removal of Abandoned Items: Dispose of any remaining trash, personal belongings, or debris left behind by previous occupants
- This may involve lifting and carrying items
- Odor Control: Identify and address any lingering odors (e.g., from pets, smoke, mildew)
- This may involve using air fresheners, deodorizers, or specialized cleaning products
- Floor Care: This might include more intensive floor cleaning like stripping and waxing hard floors or deep cleaning carpets
- Minor Maintenance Reporting: Identify and report any noticeable maintenance issues, such as leaks, broken fixtures, or damages to walls or flooring
- Securing the Property: Ensure all windows and doors are locked after cleaning is complete
- Inventory Check (if applicable): If the property includes furnishings or appliances, verify their presence and condition against an inventory list
- Final Walk-Through Preparation: Ensure the property is clean and presentable for showings to potential tenants or buyers
Available shifts:
Shift timings - 1st Shift (Day), 2nd Shift (Evening), Weekends
Job requirements:
- Physical Stamina and Dexterity: The job involves a lot of physical activity, including bending, lifting (trash, supplies), reaching, and standing for extended periods
- Attention to Detail: Vacant property cleaning often requires a high level of thoroughness to ensure the property is move-in ready or presentable for showings

- Time Management and Efficiency: Being able to manage your time effectively and complete tasks within a reasonable timeframe is crucial, especially if you're working on a schedule
- Reliability and Punctuality: Employers need cleaners who are dependable and arrive on time as scheduled
- Ability to Work Independently: Often, you'll be working alone in vacant properties, so the ability to work independently and manage your own tasks is important
- Basic Knowledge of Cleaning Products and Techniques: Understanding how to use different cleaning products safely and effectively on various surfaces is necessary
- Problem-Solving Skills: You might encounter unexpected messes or situations that require you to think on your feet
- Communication Skills: While you might work independently, you'll likely need to communicate with property managers or supervisors regarding progress, issues, or supply needs
- Respect for Property: Treating the property with care and ensuring no damage occurs during cleaning is essential
