Pay Rate:
The pay rate for this job is $18 - $18 / hour*
What you'll be doing as a Class B Driver:
- Transport assigned participants, following the transportation schedule as directed
- When/where applicable, assist both ambulatory and non-ambulatory participants in boarding and exiting transport vehicles
- Maintain good participant order and decorum on the transport vehicle being operated
- Perform company and DOT outlined safety and vehicle operation checks and document the results
- Ensure that the assigned company vehicle and all associated equipment in good working order
- Load and unload participant items such as backpacks and wheeled walkers when required
- Be knowledgeable of participant's whereabouts at all times
- Never leave participants unattended
- Ensure participants are NEVER left alone and unsupervised
- If a situation/scenario requires the vehicle driver to make a visit inside a business (emergency purposes only) during transport, the driver must take
- all participants with them
- Perform job duties and additional tasks as defined by manager/supervisor in charge
Available shifts:
Shift Timings: 1st Shift (Day), 2nd Shift (Evening)
Job requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High School graduate or equivalent (if not: must be able to attain in 12 months of employment)
- One or more years of commercial driving experience is desired
- The ability to read, write and speak English. Bilingual capability (particularly Spanish) is a plus
- Must have a valid California Class B Driver's License and ALL applicable endorsements that permits the
transporting of passengers in 10 plus passenger sized vehicles - Have passed the applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) medical examination to obtain DOT
medical certificate and have passenger transport endorsement - Must be able to pass a LiveScan background clearance check
- Must be able to pass Substance Abuse testing
- Must have a clean and excellent driving record
- The ability to effectively communicate with participants, their family members or caregivers and those in the
community - Possess knowledge of the “Rules of the Road” and the ability to read and interpret road signs in English
- Comply with the rules and regulations of State and Federal transportation agencies
