Pay Rate:
The pay rate for this job is $19 - $22 / hour*
Responsibilities:
- Set up mills and lathes
- Loading feed mechanism by lifting stock into position in machine
- Basic understanding of zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards
- Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to company's safety procedures and regulations
- Document work by entering labor hours per work order into Time Matrix
- Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Job requirements:
- Produces machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records
- Conceptual and technical mindset with attention to detail and excellent verbal communications
- Demonstrates an understanding of controls, instrumentation, and tooling
- Previous experience in an apprenticeship and/or machinist program is ideal
- 1 year of experience running a machine is preferred
- Understand and carry out oral instructions.
- Read and carry out simple written instructions.
- Observe and read instruments, gauges, dials etc. to determine operating conditions
- Count, make simple arithmetic additions and subtractions.
- Use measuring devices such as tapes, gauges, rules, weight scales, where
- reading is direct and obvious.
- Use measuring devices such as micrometers, calibrated steel tapes, calipers, etc.
- Stand, bend, reach for extended periods of time
- Quality/accuracy of work
- Dependability
- Attendance/punctuality
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Compliance with company procedures
- Problem-solving skills
- Background check required
