PeopleReady of Simi Valley, CA is now hiring Servers in Moorpark, CA! We are looking for part-time/seasonal servers to help us with events and weddings for this year's wedding season:

Pay Rate:
The pay rate for this job is $17 - $23 / hour*
What you'll be doing as a Server:
- Assist in the load-in, set-up of the event, event service, breakdown and load-out of the event
- Collaborate with other staff in the event setup by placing the appropriate table settings out and with the building of buffets and stations that align with the client's vision and company standards
- Carry out tables, chairs, bars, and all necessary catering equipment to designated areas for setup
- Ensure that tables are properly set with the correct number of place settings which includes China, glassware, and flatware that are clean, polished, and neatly positioned in mind for professional photos and videos
- Appropriately and promptly address guests' and the client's requests to help meet their expectations for a positive experience
- Accurately serve food and drinks to guests in a timely manner using proper rules of etiquette
- Participate in the setup, replenishment, and removal of food and beverage stations, keeping stations fully stocked, organized, and clean during service
- Regularly buss tables or guest-filled areas of the event to keep spaces clean and clear of trash, spills, and of food and drink clutter, as well as removing no longer needed table settings from tables
- Tray pass food and drinks to guests while being knowledgeable in what is being offered to them
- Follow verbal and written assignments designated by the Lead and/or Floor Lead efficiently and cooperatively while having a positive attitude
- Maintain presence, attentiveness, promptness and professionalism while working in a stressed induced environment
- Support chefs and other kitchen staff with food preparation, including plating and garnishing dishes
- Collaborate with other staff members (FOH & BOH) to ensure a smooth flow of service and offer help to where it is needed if not already given an assignment
- Comply with the sequence of food and beverage service as directed by the Event Lead and/or Floor Lead
- Assist with food passing and delivery to tables, refill water glasses, pour/offer wine and champagne, and buss tables and around guest filled areas – staying prompt and attentive throughout with a positive attitude
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of serving areas
- Comply with company's and state's sanitation procedures
Available shifts:
Shift Timings: 1st Shift (Day), 2nd Shift (Evening)
Job requirements:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills with coworkers and guests and have a team player mentality
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a stress induced setting
- Ability to problem-solve quickly when under pressure and adapt to changes that may occur at any point
- Ability to multitask between assignments and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Attention to detail and creativity in the event setup process
- Must be punctual, reliable, well-organized, and ready to jump in to help when needed at any given moment
- A valid California Food Handler (CFH) card
- Must have reliable transportation to job sites that are located in Ventura County and Los Angeles County areas
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds unassisted
- Must be comfortable with being on your feet for long periods of time, carrying and lifting trays of food and bussed items, rolling tables and chairs for setup and breakdown, maneuvering catering equipment around the event space (in areas including but not limited to) whether it is up and down uneven ground, slopes, stairs, etc.
- Must be available to work long (8-12 hour) shifts on weekends (Friday - Sunday) and in the evenings
- Must be comfortable working in the different elements as many events take place outdoors
- Flexibility to perform different but related tasks at any given time assigned and requested by Event Lead and/or Floor
- Lead based on the needs
