Job Description
PeopleReady Skilled Trades is seeking experienced Journeymen Carpenters for custom residential and commercial projects throughout the San Jose Area. The contractors we work with are seeking individuals with unique skills that can help deliver on the high end work they promise to their customers. If you know how to design custom base, case, trim, stairs, doors, windows and more, there is work to be done right away.
Note: The hourly rate for this position is $25 - $38 / hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis unless a deadline is otherwise stated.

Responsibilities:
- Install metal and wood framing and roof truss components, reading and understanding blue prints and schematics, using hand and electric tools to cut and fabricate and install frame work components
- Assemble and fasten materials to make frameworks and props, using hand tools
- Shape and cut materials to specific measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws
- Install doors, windows, stairs, baseboards and crown molding
- Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, finishing interior and exterior trim, and other wooden fixtures
- Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood and wallboard
- Maintain safety practices at all times
- Prepare the layout and scope of work for the project
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints a plus
Qualifications:
- Must have previous experience working as a carpenter
- Previous experience with stain-grade work and high end materials highly desired
- Must be familiar with carpentry concepts
- Must be familiar with carpentry tools
- Must be familiar with construction safety practices
